Benin City — The Edo State Police Command on Wednesday decorated 21 of its officers who were recently promoted by the Police Service Commission (PSC).

The ceremony, which took place at the Police Officers’ Mess, GRA, Benin City, was presided over by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, alongside other senior officers of the Command.

Those decorated included officers elevated from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP), and from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).

In his remarks, CP Agbonika congratulated the newly promoted officers, urging them to rededicate themselves to duty, uphold discipline, and display professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.

“Promotion comes with higher responsibility and renewed commitment to protecting lives and property,” he said, charging the officers to remain steadfast in upholding the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Commissioner commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his continued focus on officer welfare, training, and capacity development, describing the promotion exercise as a morale booster.
