Super Falcons defender Shukurat Oladipo has been named the Best Defender in the Italian Women’s Serie A following an outstanding debut season with AS Roma Women, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The 21-year-old Nigerian international was also included in the league’s official Team of the Season after playing a key role in Roma’s successful title-winning campaign.
Oladipo, who can operate as a right-back or central defender, made 18 appearances during the season as AS Roma secured the Serie A championship and qualification for next season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The former FC Robo Queens star adapted quickly to life in Italy, establishing herself as one of the league’s standout defenders with her composure, tactical awareness and defensive consistency.
Her rise continues to highlight Nigeria’s growing influence in women’s football, with Oladipo also becoming an important figure for the Super Falcons at international level.
