Nigeria’s senior men’s national team, the Super Eagles, have moved up two places to 24th in the latest FIFA World Rankings.
Despite the improvement, Nigeria remains the third-highest ranked team in Africa, trailing reigning African champions Morocco, who are ranked sixth globally, and Senegal, who occupy 16th position.
This shows improvement for the three time African champions despite failure to qualify for the ongoing FIFA World Cup in United States (US), Canada, and Mexico.
They played out a 2-2 draw with Poland before a 2-1 loss against Portugal in their last two friendly matches.
The latest rankings reflect the Super Eagles’ continued progress on the international stage as they strengthen their standing among the continent’s elite teams.
