The 2026 Ardova Handball Premier League has been scheduled to take place from November 6 to 21, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria
The top tier Handball Premier League will be played at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Institute For Sports (NIS) Surulere, Lagos and the Rowe Park Sports Complex, Alagomeji, Yaba, with the country’s top handball clubs expected to compete for honours in the men’s and women’s categories.
The 2026 season; the ninth consecutive league year; comes on the heels of the renewal of the partnership between Ardova PLC and the Handball Federation of Nigeria for another three years, with the country’s premier domestic competition retaining the name Ardova Handball Premier League.
The renewed agreement further strengthens the partnership which has continued to support the growth and development of handball in Nigeria.
The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) teams, Safety Shooters and Safety Shooters are the defending champions of the league. Three times winners Safety Shooters are the champions of the Men Category while 7 times champion Safety Babes, who clinched an unprecedented 5th consecutive titles last season, are the champions of the women’s category with their unbeaten records stretching to the 2022 season.
The Ardova Handball Premier League has established itself as the country’s top domestic handball competition, providing a platform for clubs and players to compete at the highest level, discover and develop talents, while contributing to the growth of the sport in Nigeria.
