The General Overseer of Dominion Chapel International, Bishop John Praise Daniel, has called on Christians across northern Nigeria to unite across denominational, ethnic and political differences, urging them to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Daniel made the call during the commissioning of the national secretariat of Arewa Christians for Tinubu 2027 (ACT-2027) at Ogun House, Central Business District, Abuja.

He stressed that unity was essential to achieving the organisation’s political objectives, urging Northern Christians to prioritise their shared interests and vision over religious denominational differences and tribal affiliations.

Quoting biblical passages to reinforce his message, the bishop said collective agreement and cooperation would strengthen the group’s capacity to achieve its objectives.

“When we are united, there is no impossibility that will stand against us,” he said, expressing confidence in the movement’s ability to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Daniel urged ACT-2027 members to take their mobilisation efforts to communities across the region, including villages, local government areas and wards, to sensitise Christians about the group’s political agenda.

He warned against allowing tribal affiliations and political differences to undermine the movement, insisting that members must work together despite their diverse backgrounds.

“We cannot be divided on politics and tribes. When we see something that is good, we hold to it and stand together,” he said.

The cleric also expressed confidence in the organisation’s vision, saying unity would be critical to translating its objectives into tangible political gains.

Explaining his support for Tinubu’s re-election, Daniel recalled meeting the president in 2022, when controversy surrounded the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

He said he had supported giving Tinubu an opportunity to lead, partly because he believed the president had the capacity to address insecurity and improve the balance of political appointments.

According to Daniel, the administration’s appointments of Christians to key government positions had reinforced his decision to support the president.

He cited the appointments of Senator George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation and General Christopher Musa to senior defence positions as examples of what he described as Christian representation in the administration.

Daniel urged Northern Christians to assess their collective interests and remain united in pursuing their political objectives, regardless of party differences.

He maintained that supporting Tinubu’s re-election was central to the group’s immediate political strategy, expressing hope that a second term would create opportunities for further political engagement and negotiations on issues affecting Northern Christians.

The commissioning of the secretariat is part of ACT-2027’s efforts to strengthen its organisational structures and coordinate mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.

The group, which describes itself as the political wing of the Arewa Christians Development Association (ACDA), has announced a target of five million votes for Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election.

Its Convener and National Coordinator, Ambassador Ayuba Jacob Ngbako, had said the organisation would mobilise supporters across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory through state, local government and ward structures.

ACT-2027 has also announced plans to unveil a book titled Meet President Tinubu and His 52 Managers of the Economy in December as part of its advocacy activities.
