Nigerian superstar Tems has made history as the first African artist to perform at the halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The singer’s soulful and Afrobeat-infused performance stole the show at MetLife Stadium’s inaugural halftime performance.
Grammy winner Tems teamed up with Doja Cat and Emmanuel Kelly to perform for a massive crowd of 82,000+ at the Chelsea-PSG final, watched by millions globally.
Ahead of her performance, Tems stated:
“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.”
This was not Tems’ first appearance at a Global Citizen event; she previously performed at the 2022 Global Citizen Festival in Accra, Ghana, further solidifying her status as a global icon who uses her platform for social impact.
