French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged support to supporting Nigeria in tackling its growing security threats, particularly terrorism in the northern region.
In a statement seen on X by Dockaysworld, Macron said he spoke with President Bola Tinubu, who requested for aid.
He emphasized France’s solidarity in the face of the country’s security challenges.
“At his request, we will strengthen our partnership with the authorities and our support for the affected populations,” Macron wrote, adding that “we call on all our partners to step up their engagement. No one can remain a spectator.”
The statement comes following persistent attacks from terrorist groups, including kidnappings and killings.
