Lagos: The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Prince Laja Adeoye, has pledged to build the 4th Mainland Bridge and establish Amotekun Corps to fight insecurity if elected in 2027.
Adeoye made the pledge while unveiling his “RESET LAGOS Agenda 2027” tagged: “Àtunto Èkó 1.0 – Re-Engineering Lagos for Inclusive Prosperity.”
The governorship hopeful described the blueprint as a comprehensive roadmap aimed at tackling insecurity, unemployment, poor infrastructure and social exclusion in the state.
He said Lagos residents deserved visionary, transparent and accountable leadership capable of delivering inclusive prosperity across the state.
Adeoye said his administration would prioritise reliable power supply through Independent Power Projects and renewable energy initiatives.
He also promised potable water, flood mitigation, affordable housing and climate-resilient urban planning.
“We will deliver reliable power through Independent Power Projects and renewable energy, potable water for all, flood mitigation and modern infrastructure including the 4th Mainland Bridge.
“World-class healthcare, quality education with emphasis on STEM and TVET, and robust social protection for the vulnerable will be prioritised.
“Economic expansion will be driven by SME support, formalisation of the informal sector, tech hubs, creative industries, agriculture, the blue economy and responsible natural resources development.
“Security will be strengthened through state and community policing, Amotekun, and technology, while addressing root causes through youth and women empowerment,” Adeoye said.
Adeoye said his administration would reform the civil service into a digital and performance-driven institution.
He promised full local government autonomy and conversion of the 37 Local Council Development Areas into full Local Government Areas.
According to him, transparent fiscal management and real-time publication of budgets would be institutionalised.
Adeoye said an inclusive Lagos State Elders and Advisory Council would replace the current Governor’s Advisory Council.
The proposed council, he said, would comprise traditional rulers, religious leaders, market leaders, business captains and former office holders.
Adeoye pledged strict adherence to rule of law, anti-corruption measures and contractor accountability in project execution.
He said the agenda would be backed by clear timelines, ring-fenced funding and public-private partnerships.
The governorship candidate also promised to attract at least 100 billion dollars in Foreign Direct Investment through economic diplomacy.
Adeoye said he left the Peoples Democratic Party because of lingering leadership and legal crises within the party.
According to him, the crisis made it impossible to focus on issues affecting Lagos residents.
“APM is not just another party, it is the government-in-waiting, a movement built on integrity, competence and people-centred leadership,” he said.
Adeoye urged Lagos residents, youths, women groups, students and the business community to support APM in the 2027 election.
He also called on INEC, the judiciary and security agencies to remain neutral and ensure votes counted during the election.
Adeoye said that his qualifications, combined with hands-on experience in banking and real estate, had equipped him with the analytical, innovative, and practical skills needed to re-engineer Lagos.
According to him, his administration will address persistent power outages, flooding, poor healthcare, inadequate housing, youth unemployment, security challenges, and a growing sense of exclusion for both indigenes and settlers alike.
“Lagos deserves better. We are the change you have been yearning for. A New Lagos is unfolding,” he said.
Speaking, the Chairman of the PDP-APM Coalition, Dr Amos Fawole, said that Adeoye was a visionary leader.
“This is man whose ideas are not theoretically but practical, a man whose leadership encompasses competence, integrity and commitment to democracy.
“What we are doing today is not just symbolic it is transformational.
“Today, we unveil a broad and pragmatic blueprint- A new Lagos, a Lagos defined by inclusive growth, sustainable development and transparency governance and people-oriented promises.”
The event was attended by leaders of PDP in the state, including former Vice Chairman, Lagos West,Chief Sunday Olaifa, council chairmen and other aspirants.
