Former Southampton F.C. and Royal Antwerp F.C. forward Victor Udoh has died at the age of 21 in Abuja under what reports described as suspicious circumstances.
According to reports by Mirror UK, the young striker was found dead in the Nigerian capital, although the exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed by authorities.
Udoh had recently returned to Nigeria after ending his spell with Czech club SK Dynamo České Budějovice, which he joined following his departure from Southampton in 2025.
The Nigerian forward signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Southampton but left the club by mutual consent after seven months in search of more playing opportunities, without making a senior appearance.
Before moving to England, Udoh played for Royal Antwerp after joining from Abuja-based Hypebuzz. He scored 12 goals in 21 reserve matches and later made 28 appearances for the Belgian club’s first team.
Further details surrounding his death remain unclear as investigations continue.
