The Kano State government has approved a N20,000 Eid-el-Kabir support package for civil servants across the state and all 44 local government areas.
The decision is aimed at helping workers prepare for the upcoming festive period.
The approval was announced in Kano through a statement from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
It explained that the payment is meant to support civil servants ahead of the Eid celebration, coming shortly after workers received their May salaries.
The support will cover workers from Grade Levels 01 to 14 in ministries, departments, agencies, and local government councils across the state.
The government said the plan is part of efforts to ease the financial pressure that often comes with festive periods.
Governor Abba Yusuf explained that the decision was guided by current economic conditions and the needs of workers during celebrations.
He noted that the payment is part of ongoing efforts to improve welfare in the public service and support productivity.
He also said the package is meant to help workers celebrate Eid-el-Kabir with their families in better comfort and with less financial strain.
The government restated its commitment to policies that focus on workers’ welfare and efficient service delivery.
The statement also extended Eid greetings to civil servants and residents of the state, with prayers for peace, unity, and progress.
