The Kogi Government has reiterated its continued support for Kogi United Football Club.
Mr Aridaojo Anyebe, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, gave the assurance while receiving a commendation award from the management and players of the club on Tuesday in Lokoja.
Anyebe said both Kogi United Football Club and Confluence Queens Football Club will continue to enjoy the present administration’s patronage to uplift them and Kogi sports generally.
The commissioner said that Gov. Ahmed Ododo’s government remains committed to youth and sports development in the state.
He thanked the club’s management and players for recognising his contributions to Kogi United’s growth.
Anyebe promised not to relent, saying with the Governor’s backing, the club will reach greater heights.
Earlier, the Team Manager of Kogi United, Mr Michael Olachene, said the award was in recognition of the commissioner’s zeal and passion for the club’s growth.
Olachene described Anyebe’s performance as impressive, stressing that the club management is happy with his leadership.
He thanked Ododo for his support toward the success and growth of the club
Also speaking, the Team Manager of Confluence Queens FC, Tosin Tolorunlonke, said the Ododo administration has done well for both clubs.
She assured that the club sides will not disappoint the state.
