The Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has felicitated the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, on the occasion of his 92nd birthday, describing the renowned businessman, philanthropist and community leader as an enduring symbol of enterprise, service and commitment to humanity.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, the Deputy Governor congratulated Chief Igbinedion for attaining the remarkable age of 92 in good health and with an enviable record of contributions to the development of Edo State and Nigeria.
Idahosa noted that the Esama’s name has become synonymous with entrepreneurship, philanthropy, education, media, community development and the promotion of Edo’s cultural heritage, stressing that his accomplishments over the decades have inspired generations of Nigerians.
According to him, Chief Igbinedion’s pioneering investments in the private sector, establishment of institutions and numerous interventions in the lives of individuals and communities have continued to demonstrate the power of vision, resilience and generosity.
The Deputy Governor particularly acknowledged the Esama’s role in promoting Benin and Edo State on the global stage, noting that his remarkable journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of Nigeria’s foremost entrepreneurs remains a compelling story of determination and achievement.
