Rivers United and Shooting Stars are set to receive a combined cash reward of $100,000 despite their early elimination from the CAF inter-club competitions.
The Nigerian clubs exited the continental competitions at the qualifying stage but will reportedly benefit from the financial reward allocated to participating clubs.
Rivers United were eliminated from the CAF Champions League after suffering defeat to Ivorian side San Pedro, with the tie ending 3-3 on aggregate.
Shooting Stars, meanwhile, bowed out of the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 2-1 on aggregate to Tunisian club CS Sfaxien.
Despite their respective exits, the financial reward is expected to provide some relief to both clubs as they continue preparations for their domestic campaigns.
The development comes as Nigerian clubs continue to seek improved performances and stronger financial backing in continental competitions.
