In a congratulatory message, the governor, speaking on behalf of the state government and people, described the anniversary as an occasion to celebrate and give thanks for the monarch’s decade on the throne.

Okpebholo said the Oba had, over the past 10 years, promoted peace, unity, reconciliation and service while providing leadership to the Benin Kingdom and beyond.

He also commended the monarch’s efforts to preserve and promote the cultural heritage, traditions, history and identity of the Benin Kingdom on the global stage.

He added that the Oba’s efforts to uphold the dignity of the Benin people had strengthened the kingdom’s standing among the world’s great civilisations.

The governor also expressed appreciation for the monarch’s goodwill, counsel and support for his administration, noting the Palace’s role in promoting peace, stability and development across the state.
