The General Manager of Barau Football Club, Dominic Lorfa has dispelled rumours that there is crisis in the team.
Lorfa made the clarification while addressing sports writers on the recent attitude of some stewards during Barau FC/Kwara United Euro match NPFL at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
According to him, the stewards who are supposed to safeguard the players, officials and coaches before, during and after the match chose to neglect their responsibilities.
The General Manager warned that the management will not tolerate such behavior from any member of the stewards.
”Football is not a do or die affair. It is either you win, draw or lose. We need to protect the image of the club as a private team; Kano, as well as the country in general.”
“Based on the statistics, Barau FC have been doing well as far as the league is concerned. The team won three, drew five and lost only a match. So, it is not a bad result. We should appreciate and encourage the players, officials and coaches to do more,” he explained.
He added that the management of the club is planning to organize workshop for the stewards as part of measures to educate and enlighten them on their official responsibilities.
The General Manager explained that if Barau FC can secure a win or draw in away matches, the fans and stewards should have taken the outcome of the home match result in good faith rather then blaming or pointing accusing  fingers at players, coaches or officials.
While appreciating the club owner, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin and the team President, Shawwal Barau Jibrin for their commitment and support, he called on football stakeholders to rally round Kano Pillars and Barau FC as both teams have been representing the ancient city of Kano and northern region at large.
Lorfa, however, assured that the club management, technical crew and the players were making efforts to ensure that the team excel at the end of the Nigerian Football league.
On welfare, the General Manager commended the club proprietor for a wonderful welfare package to the players, coaches and officials, stressing that the team is among the best in terms of funding and moral support in the country.
Meanwhile, Barau FC will be away this weekend against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, 3SC.
